Located on Tortola’s East End and nestled in the Lambert Estates hillside is Gryphon’s Lair Villa. This 3 bedroom, 3 bath Villa is all yours and is very quiet and private. You will have your own pool, the best beach and your own kayaks! From the villa, you with have breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea, Lambert Beach and Guana Island Resort off in the distance. The villa is minutes away from Tortola’s seven other beaches, great restaurants and beach bars.

At Gryphon’s Lair overlooking Lambert Beach, you will be hypnotized by the two most soothing sounds in the tropics — the breath of the sea and the chatter of wind through palm leaves. The view from Gryphon’s Lair across the wind-patterned sea to Guana Island will leave you feeling spellbound by the sensations surrounding you. Each lapping wave and rustling breeze will send you deeper into a calm trance enhanced by the visual pleasures of pink oleander, red hibiscus, golden butterflies, periwinkle skies, white clouds, multicolored sailboats and turquoise waters.

The same sights and sounds can be experienced from different settings on the property — balconies with white railings; ceramic-tiled patios; and an open-air, covered breezeway that operates as the nucleus of the home. The breezeway, overlooking Lambert beach and Guana Island, connects the two buildings, the balconies, the outdoor cooking deck and the in ground pool. In addition, the breezeway also features a beautiful teak dining table with seating for 10. Behind the breezeway extends a large wooden deck accommodating a new outdoor shower area allowing sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea while cooling off with a tropical rain shower. There is also a new Weber grill for outdoor cooking on this deck. Don’t feel like cooking? No problem, there are several great restaurants within a 5 minute drive including Red Rock in East End and Brandywine Estate Restaurant, consistently rated #1 in the BVI each year.

While the home faces the sea, it is protected by the surrounding hillsides, so outdoor areas remain comfortable year-round. The ebullient flow of light and breeze through the main house originates from the exquisite, hardwood floor-to-ceiling windows and doors imported from Dominica that open to the sea-facing balcony and open breezeway. The great room includes a newly remodeled kitchen, indoor dining area and living room with a couch and chair for relaxing in front of the television — that is, if you can pull your eyes away from the mesmerizing panorama.

Off the great room, a bedroom with a king size bed and the same tongue-and-groove cathedral ceilings also boasts the same view, either from the room or from the intimate adjoining balcony. Past the breezeway and up a few stairs, the balcony shares the view as well and also looks over the property’s in ground pool and deck with 4 new chaise lounge chairs.

Beyond the pool deck, a sunning platform is tucked away between mature fruit trees and the BVI’s trademark granite boulders in a private side lawn. The spacious bedrooms offer new king size beds, white cathedral ceilings, immense storage space, and white-tiled bathrooms with hand-painted cobalt blue designs. The white ceilings and soothing blue-grey walls add to an overall sense of crisp freshness that pervades the entire property.

The secluded Gryphon’s Lair sits on over a half-acre of land and is a short walk or drive above Lambert Beach Resort and has access to Tortola’s best and most beautiful beach. The airport, east side restaurants and shops, and the best surfing beach in the Caribbean are all between five and ten minutes away.
