In addition to the well-known Necker Island, Sir Richard Branson also owns another island retreat in the British Virgin Islands right next door called Moskito Island. Branson first bought Moskito Island in 2007 and since 2016 the island, which is part of the Virgin Limited Edition collection, has been available to hire exclusively for groups of up to 22 guests.
Currently the island is being rebuilt after the devastating effects of hurricane Irma. As evidenced by the photo above, work is continuing a rapid pace. In addition, parts of the resort have already been restored, however, a re-opening date has yet to be announced. See photo below.
The island complex is comprised of three villas, the Headland House, the Beach Villa and the Mangrove Villa, that offer a combined total of 11 rooms. The island also includes a “recreation area,” which includes a wraparound infinity pool and bar, tennis pavilions and a watersports center.
The exclusive-use rate includes everything from all meals and drinks (including alcoholic beverages), snacks, return launch transfers from either Beef Island or Virgin Gorda, three freshwater pools, hot tubs, two floodlit tennis courts, direct beach access, Wi-Fi and even a DJ for one night of your stay.
