Watch World-Class Surfers from Your Own Beachfront Villa
If you’re planning a holiday in Tortola chances are you are day-dreaming about bathing in the warm turquoise ocean and sipping a cocktail while watching the boats cruise by. Staying at AppleSurf Villa is that dream come true…you can’t get any closer to the ocean! AppleSurf Villa offers 2 comfortable and affordable suites right in Apple Bay where you might just surf the best waves of your life in the winter months or on other days you can happily snorkel or just paddle around. Newly renovated since Irma, the villa is in pristine condition with the added amenity of AC.
Sea Breeze is the upstairs suite and has a lovely sunning deck next to the entrance, as well as the more private porch accessed from the living room. The high ceilings, fresh neutral tones of the renovation and 10ft wall of sliding glass doors make you feel truly at one with the ocean that’s just feet away.
The living area opens onto the sunny porch and is filled with gorgeous light reflected from the ocean and is furnished wth a futon and chair. A mahogany lattice screen seoarates the bedroom area which has a queen-sized bed and walk-in closet. The tiled bathroom has a walk-in shower to refresh after a day at the beach and the kitchen is equipped with fridge, cooktop, microwave, blender and toaster and a window to enjoy the ocean even while doing dishes!
All windows are fully screened if you want to listen to the ocean and catch the breezes. Or you can close up and turn on the AC in warmer months.
Light and airy, and on the edge of the ocean, AppleSurf Villa is the perfect spot to unwind with nothing better to do than count the pelicans or the boats passing by. It is ideally located in Apple Bay in the West End which has long been a popular destination for the more discerning traveller. Sebastians on the Beach is just a minutes walk away and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Sugar Mill is a beautiful upscale boutique hotel just a quarter mile away, a pleasant ocean-front walk. It has the main restaurant open for dinners and Tramonti, it’s stylish beachfront restaurant that’s open for lunch and dinner. Other awesome restaurants nearby are the beachfront Tropical Fusion in Long Bay (approx 1/2 mile, re-opening Dec’18), Da Coal Pot which is waterfront in Carrot Bay (approx 2 miles) and Bananakeet on Windy Hill, Carrot Bay, for the best sunsets and great food (approx 4 miles). Big Bens Superette is just over Zion Hill and is well-stocked for the necessities. We look forward to Soper’s Hole at West End re-opening in 2019. The Jost Van Dyke ferry operates out of West End ferry terminal and offers a fun day at the famed Soggy Dollar Bar, Foxys and more….
For beaches you have Apple Bay (known for its great surf, it is not always ideal for swimming and the beach can change from sand to pebbles a couple of times a year. Long Bay is to the West and is a mile-long white sand beach, again it can be rough if there is swell – fun for boogie-boarding! Smugglers Cove is further on to the West (10 mins drive) and a well-hidden gem…it’s a sheltered spot with lovely reef for snorkeling and Nigel’s Beach Bar for libations. Cane Garden Bay is just a 10 minute drive to the East and is another calm sandy beach; it has several beach bars, restaurants and live music – fun by day or night. Do check the BVI cruise ship schedule online if you prefer to avoid the crowds – this is their preferred beach.
